"When I first met Attila Kollar in October 2008, I just moved in to my new home and I hired him to take down the ugly green marble that was surrounding the fireplace. He then suggested resurfacing the fireplace with cultured stones all the way up to the ceiling. He helped me to achieve the clean and contemporary look that I was looking for.
He is very intellectual and knowledgeable. He was able to comprehend both the aesthetic and technical ideas that I had in my mind and executed them with precise craftsmanship. What impressed me the most was his hardworking attitude and attention to details, he doesn’t like taking shortcuts or cutting corners.
At that time, I was also interviewing many contractors for my home remodeling project, which would change the layout of my staircase and adding a half bath below the stairs. When Attila told me that he is capable of doing everything himself, I knew he would be a strong candidate for the job.
I started talking to people, who he had worked with as well as visiting the places where he had done work on; I began to feel more confident that he would be the man for the job. There’s no doubt that he has the skills to complete the job, but at the end, it’s his intelligence, his trustworthiness and his hardworking attitude that wins the bid.
We began demolition and construction in February 2009. The project requires new foundation, concrete work, new shear wall, drywalls, rated walls, framing, plumbing, electrical and staircase handrails, which all have to pass city building inspections. Attila is knowledgeable in the city codes in all of these areas. He was well planned for each task. And because of his knowledge and excellent workmanship, we were able to pass each inspection with little to no problem with the San Jose building inspectors, who were known for being very difficult and strict. Attila also re-textured the entire house, paint, put in new lights, install the new water closet and vanity, installed new bamboo flooring and new baseboards for our living room.
Attila can truly do everything. I was amazed by the progress of the work. Every day I come home from work, I see something new is done. Knowing that we are living in the house while construction is going on, he made sure that the job site is clean and safe before he leaves.

"I engaged Attila Kollar after searching for someone I could “trust” to professionally paint my home in 2008 at a reasonable price. What attracted me to engage in contract with Mr. Kollar was his exceptional training as a 4th generation European craftsman. My father was a master mason and received awards for his masonry skills, so I was inclined to meet Mr. Kollar to discuss my project.
I hired Mr. Kollar to paint my home and he spared no effort, quality product or time to thoroughly clean and caulk the redwood siding of my 99-year old home, fill and sand nicks and notches, prime and paint my home. He helped to make paint color selections and combinations and designed a comfortable and pleasing upgrade my back porch. He used sound judgment when he noticed siding was missing and some major retrofitting slipped off the corner of the foundation.
